Quip was Arnie Katz's fanzine in the late 60s, and I was his designated cover artist for the duration. This was an exciting thing, save for just one little catch -- most Quip covers were multi-pagers, set up like comic book pages. It was usually only three, front and back on the first and the front of the third, but still, for a classic procrastinator like me, that meant some very concentrated effort by, or sometimes soon after, the deadline. This was an occasion when things had gotten past the wire... That's us in my East Village (NYC) apartment, fairly faithfully rendered. My image of Arnie in those days is on the left (I did have a lot of trouble drawing pants legs then), me in the middle, and my then girl friend Joy Sennet is looking on. She, by the way, later changed her name a couple of times, adding to the first (and woe to those who neglect it!), and substituting another for her last with my help: she is now Joy-Lynd Chamberlain...
