These four images are my first relatively successful attempts at water transparency using a version of Terragen from a year or so ago. The terrain was developed during a flurry of discussions about the then newly adjustable option on Terragen's online e-group at the time.
Dune Shore 1
It's not really obvious where water meets shore, is it, in some areas. Did I make the water too transpaent?
Dune Shore 2
Here the sun reflects on the water at the shore's edge, making things a little bit clearer. Looks more like surf, though, doesn't it.

A change in the viewing angle renders this image my favorite of the four, even if the water does seem too dark. I kinda like the floating seaweed (or whatever that is) effect, but don't know if I'd want to swim in it.

I moved the camera up to get a bird's eye view of the shoreline. Do the ridges actually fold the water as they move under its surface? Nahh, that's just the waves coincidentally matching the dune ridges. Yeah, that's the ticket...
