This is the design I came up with for Christmas cards at the last minute in 2002. It started out, as you may imagine, as a fairly ordinary church-in-the-snow image, which I developed in Photoshop based on a snowy landscape made with Terragen. For the stained glass side windows, I used a filter that is part of the Photoshop setup. I thought then of adding a deer, and while I was sketching it in, I playfully used the stained-glass filter to fill in the image—and liked it. Played with it some more, of course, but essentially what you see is what I ended up with (adding some seasonal lettering on the cards).
