Winged man finds human baby doll
This was a cover done for a weekly Apa-F distribution in April, 1965. It depicts an winged man, possibly an archeologist or explorer, who finds a doll—a human, baby doll. Circumstances leading up to that discovery are left up to the imagination of the viewer. Around about the time I did this I had been working on the concept of a human or human-like winged being, whose wings would probably have more in common with a bat's than a bird's, so some of the details reflect those ideas. Below is a cobbled-together fragment of one of those sketches, similar to this one.
